Sign the Petition to stop violence against women and girls! By adding your
voice to the campaign to help support the International Violence
Against Women Act (IVAW) to that of FAIR Fund, Women’s Edge, Amnesty
International, the International Rescue Committee and many more
organizations, you are telling your representatives, family, and
friends that you want to see an end to sexual violence and that you
want Congress to make it a top legislative and funding priority.
Rape, forced prostitution, and sexual slavery are all tools of war that
have tremendous consequences on the lives of women and girls and
amplify the trauma in conflict zones around the world. Join
us to help prevent sexual violence, support women and girl’s recovery
and health, and promote anti-sexual violence initiatives
world-wide.
April 2, 2007: FAIR Fund, through the Dru Campaign, is proud to announce the first two student funding awards to address
gender-based violence in college campuses. Aiboia Fasehun
(Junior, Carnegie Mellon University) will launch a male leadership
training series to educate and support university men’s efforts to end
sexual assault. In Boston, Brittan Smith (Senior, Harvard
College) and Merichelle Villapando (Freshman, Boston University) will
bring the “drink detective” strips to their college campuses to help
college students test drinks they suspect could be laced with “date
rape drugs” both on and off campus. Together with student
consultants of the Harvard Law School Negotiation Clinical Program and SAFER , FAIR Fund is working to empower college students to better understand
and promote enhanced campus sexual assault reporting
policies. A student toolkit will be released in summer
2007. Contact Makiko to learn more! |
